More about Shower Power Booster Pump
Shower Power Booster pumps are a practical choice when you need to improve weak flow without moving to a larger conventional shower pump. This Flowflex in-line family is built around compact booster pumps that fit directly into the pipe run and run from a household socket via a 12V supply. The range is aimed at different domestic pressure problems, from a single underperforming shower or tap to a bathroom feed or a wider household supply, so the key is matching the configuration to the feed or feeds you need to boost.
The first decision is whether you are boosting one water feed or two. A single automatic pump is used on one hot or cold feed and starts by flow sensor at around 1.5 litres per minute. If your starting flow is too low to trigger that reliably, the automatic and manual pack gives you a route for very low initiating flow and can also link two pumps on the same feed for a stronger boost. That is different from the double automatic pack, which places one pump on each gravity hot and gravity cold feed to keep a mixer outlet more closely balanced.
System type matters just as much as pump layout. This family is supported for positive- and negative-head use, with in-line installation on 15mm or 22mm pipework using supplied reducers. Supported applications include gravity systems, combi-boiler installations, electric showers, hot-water recirculation and selected mains-inlet boosting within applicable water regulations. Where you position the pump can change the job it does. Fitting before a combi boiler can support the wider supply, while a supported position after the boiler can target one or more weaker outlets.
Across the range, supported product evidence includes WRAS approval, operation up to 1.1 bar and up to 9 litres per minute, with exact results depending on the model selected and the installation conditions. Noise is stated at around 50 dB measured at 0.1 metres, and energy use is stated as approximately 5% of a conventional shower pump. If you already know you need a broader category, you can also compare Shower Pumps, or narrow the choice by application with Combi Boiler Compatible Shower Pumps and Mains Inlet Booster Pumps.
For most buyers, the safest way to choose is to check four points before ordering: are you boosting one feed or both, can the natural flow reach the automatic start point, is the system positive or negative head, and are you improving a single outlet or a wider supply? Once those checks are clear, the Shower Power Booster range becomes much easier to match to the job.
