More about Stop End Pipe Fittings
Stop end pipe fittings give you a straightforward way to close off a compatible pipe run when a line is being completed, altered or left redundant. In this collection you can compare the options that matter on the job: pipe size, fitting material, connection method and whether you may want to reopen the pipework later. That makes it easier to choose a stop end that suits the installation, rather than treating every capped end as the same kind of fitting.
The first check is always size and compatibility. This range covers common small-bore and larger sizes, from 8mm and 10mm through 15mm, 22mm and 28mm, up to 35mm, 42mm, 54mm and selected larger end feed sizes. Materials in the range include copper and brass, with some chrome plated compression options where the finished fitting may remain visible. A stop end simply terminates the pipe. It is not a valve, so it is the right choice when you need to close the end of a run rather than isolate a live route for regular use.
Your connection method will usually decide how permanent the result is. Compression stop ends are a practical option where you want a mechanical joint without heat and where future dismantling may be useful. End feed and solder ring stop ends suit capillary pipework and create a more permanent joint once soldered. Press stop ends are designed for use with a compatible press system and specialist tool, giving a permanent connection that would need cutting out if removed later.
That difference in permanence is worth thinking about before you order. If you are capping pipework during alterations and expect to reuse the route, a demountable compression fitting is often the sensible choice. If the run is being properly finished or abandoned, a soldered or pressed stop end may make more sense. Tool access and working conditions matter too, especially where heat is awkward to use or space is tight around the pipe.
Across the range you will also find product-specific standards and approvals where supplied, including WRAS approval on this category and standards such as BS EN 1254 variants and BS EN 1057. Those details still need checking against the individual fitting and application, especially for water or gas work. If you are narrowing down by jointing method first, you can also browse Compression Fittings, End Feed Fittings or the wider Plumbing Fittings range to match the stop end to the rest of your pipework.
